Why do I need an account?

Family members that will view and/or submit information (e.g. communication, expenses, and/or scheduling information) require an account (e.g. mom, dad, sometimes older children, etc.). Accounts help ensure that nobody outside your family has access to your information. It is also used to track communication, expenses, and schedules.

Does everyone need an account?

Not everyone in your family requires an account. Typically each parent will have their own account (their own e-mail address used to log into the system) and everyone else that "participates" will be "virtual". The children are almost always virtual, meaning they do not log into the system, but are required for appointments and expenses. Other virtual members may include relatives and/or friends. Other common uses of virtual members are appointment drivers (picking up or dropping off the kids).

Can I use this site without my ex?

While ParentingTogether.net works best when both parents participate, you can still use key features such as tracking and managing your expenses and schedules without your ex-spouse signing up. You can even post communication messages. However, it has limited value due to the absence of response.

How do I get started?

The first step in getting started with ParentingTogether.net is to register/sign-up. Registration is a simple process.
  • First, click the "Sign Up" button located on the right side of all pages.

  • Second, complete and submit the registration form.
    • I am the first parent to sign up
      • If you are the first parent to sign up, leave the "Previously Registered Member" e-mail address blank.
      • Once your account is activated, notify your ex-spouse that you have signed up with ParentingTogether.net.
      • Tell your ex-spouse the e-mail address you used to create your account. He or she will need the e-mail address to "link" the accounts together when he or she signs up (See below).

    • I am not the first parent to sign up
      • If you are not the first parent to sign up, enter your ex-spouse's e-mail address in the "Previously Registered Member" section to "link" the accounts (your ex-spouse must inform you of the e-mail address he/she used to create their account).
      • If the e-mail address is located in our system (our web-site will try to locate the member after you enter the e-mail address), your ex-spouse will be notified so they can verify and "accept" the linking of the two accounts (You're link request will be "pending" until your ex-spouse accepts or rejects the request). This is done for security purposes only.
      • To help expedite the linking of the accounts, notify your ex-spouse that you have signed up with ParentingTogether.net so they can verify and "accept" the linking of the two accounts.

    • Once submitted, we must validate your e-mail address prior to logging in for the first time. We do that by sending an e-mail to your supplied e-mail address. The e-mail contains a link that can either be clicked or pasted into your favorite browser. Once validated, your account will be activated.

  • Start using the site!
